Product Description

The wild boar, as depicted here, is a traditional game animal of many of Taiwan’s indigenous tribes. This animal is still hunted, but in smaller numbers. Domesticated pigs are now commonly raised in indigenous villages and have mostly replaced wild boar as a meat source.

This attractive and durable leather case can hold approximately 20 business cards, following on the artist’s interest in making art that reflects tradition but that has modern uses.

Artist lntroduction

Paicu Tiaki’ana is member of the indigenous Tsou tribe from Taiwan. She was born and raised and still lives in Laiji Village in the Alishan (Mt. Ali) area. She is an accomplished singer, having released her first CD of songs written in her native language in 2004. She learned basket weaving skills from her father, one of the tribe’s last traditional rattan weavers. She has also developed woodcarving and leather craft skills, and in her words is working to produce music and art that will pass on the knowledge and unique culture of her tribe.
